SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police have identified the man killed in a head-on crash with a 16-year-old girl, who didn't have a driver's license, as Chaun "C-Mac" McKeever.
The crash happened Monday at the intersection of Flat Shoals Road and Guilford Lane near Old National Highway.
Investigators say the teen took her mother's SUV without permission and was distracted when she crashed head-on into McKeever's landscaping truck. Police said she hit the truck so hard it was barely recognizable.
McKeever, a young father, died at the scene.
Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes spoke with McKeever's heartbroken family, who gave her several photos of McKeever. Many family members talked about how he was a great father, a great friend and a hard worker.
"We're hurting. This is devastating, unexpected," said McKeever's best friend, Kerry Gates. "No one saw it coming."
Fernandes talked to two of McKeever's aunts and a cousin on the phone. They said he played flag football, he was on the kickball team and he loved spending time with his 8-year-old daughter.

"Mac didn't have an enemy," Gates said. "I don't think anybody disliked Mac. Everybody loved Mac."
Police haven't charged the 16-year-old driver yet. They said they are still investigating the crash and trying to figure out if they are going to charge her as an adult or not.
"She made an adult decision. She needs to sit and understand that not only did she mess up her life, but she messed up the life of Mac, his daughter, his family, close friends, anyone who came into contact with him," Gates said.
McKeever's kickball team will honor him at a game Tuesday night.
