Mother police say killed grandmother, abducted son in N.C. arrested in South Fulton

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — A woman who was wanted for murder and then fleeing with her 2-year-old son in North Carolina has been arrested in the city of South Fulton.

Camille Singleton, 31, was wanted for shooting and killing her grandmother last week, Inita Gaither, according to ABC-affiliate WTVD.

Police say that after shooting her grandmother in the head, Singleton took her toddler son, Dior Singleton, and fled the state. An Amber Alert was issued for Dior on Friday.

Officers found Gaither, 68, dead in her Clayton, North Carolina home during a welfare check.

South Fulton police officers located and arrested Singleton at the Walmart on Cascade Road on Sunday. Dior was located safe with his mother during her arrest. Both have been taken into custody.

Detectives from North Carolina are on their way to South Fulton to begin the process of extraditing Singleton.
