SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — More than 80 people were arrested and 45 vehicles were impounded in a street racing bust in the City of South Fulton.
The South Fulton Police Department worked with the Georgia Department of Public Safety, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Atlanta Police Department to make the arrests, which they announced Sunday.

Police said five guns and 32 grams of marijuana were also seized. It’s unclear when the arrests were made. The names of the suspects and the charges they face have not been released.
Since the start of the pandemic, illegal street racing has exploded in major cities.
In metro Atlanta, organizers are using social media to promote events. Several viral videos have shown crowds shut down busy streets and interstates to watch drivers perform dangerous stunts.
