SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Two children are safe Sunday morning after being taken for a wild ride when their mothers car was stolen from a South Fulton gas station.

South Fulton police said the three-month-old and nine-year-old were in an unattended vehicle left running at a BP gas station at 3515 Cascade Road around 8:45 p.m. Saturday when someone jumped in and drove away with it.
Police put out an alert to nearby agencies and the vehicle was found a short time later by Atlanta police and East Point police a short distance away at the intersection of Fairburn Road and Mays Crossing.

The two children were in the car and were not harmed, they were reunited with their mother a short time later.

The City of South Fulton police department has not released a description of the suspect only saying they are still searching
