South Fulton officer accidentally shot at gun range

The Mayor of South Fulton is speaking out and accusing city leaders and police of shutting down an Easter Egg Hunt to get back at him.

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — South Fulton police confirmed one of their officers was shot at a gun range.

The accidental shooting happened David L. Hagins Firing Range in College Park.

Police tell Channel 2 Action News that the officer accidentally shot himself in the leg as he was trying to holster his gun.

The officer is being transported for medical care. Police said the officer was at the range for a yearly Georgia P.O.S.T mandated course.
