Southwest pilot arrested at GA airport, charged with DUI

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A Southwest Airlines pilot is facing DUI charges after showing up to a Georgia airport while intoxicated.

David Allsop, 52 from New Hampshire, was arrested at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport on Wednesday morning.

Flight tracker Flight Aware shows the flight bound for Chicago was delayed from 6:05 a.m. to 10:56 a.m. as the airline worked to get a new pilot.

A passenger on the plane shared photos with ABC News that showed police on the plane.

Southwest issued a statement saying they are aware of the incident.

“We’re aware of a situation involving an Employee on Flight 3772 this morning from Savannah. The Employee has been removed from duty. Customers were accommodated on other flights, and we apologize for the disruption to their travel plans. There’s nothing more important to Southwest than the Safety of our Employees and Customers.”

According to jail records, Allsop was granted a $3,500 bond.
