SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Spalding County middle school has returned to normal operations after a note threatening to “shoot up the school” was found in a bathroom by a student.
The school was initially placed on lockdown but the lockdown has since been lifted. Deputies will remain in the area for the rest of the day.

Deputies are currently at Rehoboth Road Middle School investigating. There has been no shooting and all of the children are currently safe.

“There are no indications that threat is authentic but we are taking precautionary steps to ensure the safety of all students and staff,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
It’s unclear if police have been able to determine who wrote the note or if any students were facing disciplinary action.
