SAVANNAH, Ga. — State leaders announced Friday that Hyundai Motor Group will invest $5.5 billion in Georgia at the company’s first fully-electric vehicle and battery manufacturing facility.
The nearly 3,000-acre mega-site will be built in Bryan County near Savannah. Hyundai Motor Group expects to begin construction on the new facility in January 2023, with full production expected in the first half of 2025.

The plant is expected to bring approximately 8,100 jobs to the state.
Hyundai Motor Group sells cars under the Hyundai and Kia brands. The company already operates a Kia plant in West Point, Georgia.
