ATLANTA — The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement has taken down a list of low-performing schools for 2024. The list helps determine which students are eligible for the Promise Schools voucher program.
The office says it wants to look at more data before reposting the list.
“GOSA is currently validating additional data to ensure accuracy of the Promise Scholarship school list. The list has been removed from the website while validation is underway. A verified list will be posted as soon as validation is completed.”

This is not the first time that the list has been taken down. The GOSA originally uploaded the list on Nov. 27, but said it took it off the website after they became “aware of outliers in the CCRPI calculation.”
The GOSA reuploaded the list on Dec. 1, which was removed within the past week. The office has not said what caused the new review of the data or what additional data it is looking at.

Earlier this year, Gov. Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 233 into law. The Promise Schools voucher program will give up to $6,500 to some families to pay for private school tuition, home-school expenses or other education related expenses.
To qualify, a student must have attended the public school for at least two consecutive semesters or entering kindergarten. The student’s parent or parents must have been a Georgia resident for at least a year unless they are on active duty in the military.
The Georgia Promise program says it will accept applications from parents in early 2025.
