StormTracker 2HD is the most powerful weather radar in the Southeast – and it’s proving so by catching a huge flock of migrant birds taking off.
The incredible event was caught on our radar Thursday morning.
You can see the colony take off near Perry in Middle Georgia at sunrise.

While we don’t know exactly what kind of birds were taking off, we know that this is the time that many birds make the journey north.
A National Weather Service meteorologist also caught more birds, 10 separate colonies, taking off in Middle Georgia.
