It was a picture that made national headlines. And the student behind says her punishment for it has been canceled.
The student, named Hannah, from North Paulding High School was originally suspended this week after she posted the photo showing a crowded hallway inside the school. Very few of the students were wearing masks.
On Friday, the 10th grader tweeted that the school called her and notified her that they “have deleted my suspension.”
The photo gained national attention and was shared thousands of times on social media.
Paulding County Schools Superintendent Dr. Brian Otott said the photo had been been taken out of context.

“Some individuals on social media are taking this photo and using it without context to criticize our school reopening efforts,” Otott said. “Under the COVID-19 protocols we have adopted, class changes that look like this may happen, especially at a high school with more than 2,000 students.”
Students at Paulding County schools are not required to wear masks, but are encouraged to do so.

Hannah said that she will be able to go back to school on Monday and thanked people who supported her.
