ARAGON, Ga. — The GBI is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Polk County Tuesday night.
GBI officials say Aragon, Ga. police officers were called to Walnut Street around 6 p.m. to calls of a man threatening suicide.

They say Derick Rock, 30, was at the door of the home with a gun pointed at his head and threatening to shoot himself.
Officers attempted to get Rock to drop the gun, but he instead pointed the gun at officers. When he pointed the gun at officers, an officer shot at him multiple times, hitting Rock.

The officer immediately began trying to aid Rock, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers were injured during this incident.

The GBI says their investigation is ongoing. This is the eighth officer-involved shooting they have looked into this year.
