ALPHARETTA, Ga — Police arrested Shawn Lange who they said pulled a gun on a Tiffany Smith and her child a few weeks ago.
Smith said she is relieved the suspect is caught.
Smith told Channel 2′s Mike Petchenik that she was driving in Alpharetta when Lange almost hit her. She honked the horn and that’s when she said things turned violent.
“The world we live in right now, it’s pretty crazy,” Smith said. “I was in the left-hand lane and the gentleman was whipping in and out of cars. He almost hit me so I honked.”

Police said Lange pulled a gun on Smith and chased her onto Ga. 400. Smith was able to take a picture of the rental car Lange drove when he boxed her in.
“He gets right up right in front of me, slams on his brake, gets out, has the gun in his hand, points the gun at me, points it at my son and about that time he pulls out a pocket knife, comes walking up towards the vehicle and popped my tire,” Smith said.
Smith and her son were so afraid during the ordeal and the detectives worked with the rental car agency to identify Lange and get his information.
“Honestly now that they’ve caught him, I’m relieved,” Smith said.
Lange was arrested a few weeks ago and charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children. Lange is currently in the Fulton County Jail unable to make bond.
