According to deputies, Moree ran away from the scene. With the help of several Georgia law enforcement agencies, authorities caught Moree four hours later Tuesday morning on Polly Road.

“Teamwork is about more than just working together—it’s about bringing all our strengths and resources to bear in the pursuit of justice,” said Sheriff Darren Pierce. “It takes a collective effort to respond to a tragedy like this. In just a few hours, we identified the offender, secured arrest warrants, and tracked him down in the woods to make the arrest. This shows what’s possible when we stand together for our community.”

Moree will be booked into the Whitfield County Jail.
