Driver having medical emergency crashed into woman’s Atlanta apartment as she was sleeping

ATLANTA — Atlanta firefighters are on the scene of a car that crashed into a three-story apartment building in southwest Atlanta.

The crash happened off Sells Avenue and Joseph E. Lowery Blvd near the Morehouse College campus.

An Atlanta fire commander on the scene confirmed the driver crashed into the building after he had a medical emergency.

A woman was sleeping inside the apartment where he crashed. Firefighters said both weren’t seriously injured, but were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Firefighters evacuated the other two floors above the woman’s apartment as a precaution.
