COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A SWAT standoff has ended Wednesday morning after a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run was barricade inside a Cobb County home.

Cobb County police told Channel 2 Action News that they were working to get the man out of a home on Bay Harbor Cay.

Police said 27-year-old Christian Martinez left the scene of the crash overnight, and went to the Acworth home and where he refused to to come out.

Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway at the scene said the standoff ended after 9 a.m. Martinez was taken into custody.

Holloway spoke to a neighbor who said she woke up to all the commotion.

“It’s a house away so we were scared to be in the line of fire if anything happens,” said neighbor Angela Marler. “We saw SWAT jump over the neighbor’s fence to get into the backyard, we saw and armored drunk with a lid speaker... there’s been over 30 police here.”

Cobb police say Martinez was driving when he hit and killed a pedestrian on Cobb Parkway, north of Lake Acworth Drive around 2:30 a.m.

Police said they are still investigating if the pedestrian or Martinez had the right away.
