Teen, man shot during home invasion

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are searching for a group of gunmen who forced their way into a DeKalb County house and shot two people.

The violent attack happened on Casa Linda Drive, just north of Interstate 20.

Someone inside the home called 911 late Monday saying several people stormed into the house. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old shot in the arm and a 52-year-old shot in the side.

Channel 2's Darryn Moore spoke to the uncle of one of the victims. He said the home invaders were after money.

The uncle, who did not want to be identified, said there was a knock at the carport door. When he answered, three men stormed inside demanding money. He said when they told them they didn't have any, one of the men opened fire hitting the teen. During the commotion, a 52-year-old walked downstairs and was also shot. The uncle was not shot.

The gunmen ran out of the house empty handed.

Police are still searching for the men, but said they may have leads on one of them.

The 19-year-old is stable condition Tuesday morning and the lead detective in the case said the other victim was in surgery overnight. There is no word on his condition.
