Think we can’t build snowmen in Georgia? Challenge accepted

ATLANTA — You’ve probably seen the photos, memes and sassy tweets before: We get some snow in Georgia, and, obviously, try to make the most of it.

That often leads to incomplete, somewhat muddy “snowmen.” And the ongoing joke about it continues.

Saturday, however, did not disappoint. Snow started falling just before 9 a.m., and children, parents and adults alike rushed to start their very own legitimate snowman.

Channel 2’s Chris Jose spoke to a family in Gilmer County that is actually from Smyrna. When he asked what they were doing in the snowiest part of the state, the children’s father said he’d always wanted to see snow. The family was hoping their dream would come true around Christmas, but Saturday was the day.

We showed you streaming LIVE on the WSB-TV app as the excited siblings rolled their first part of the body, and then, eventually, ravished in their glory as a snowman stood tall. In Georgia.
