ATLANTA — It’s back to class on Monday for the state’s largest school district.
On Saturday, Atlanta Public Schools lined up in big numbers to take part in the district’s largest Back-to-School Bash.

Channel 2 partnered with APS for Saturday’s event, which allowed families to pick up school supplies, get COVID-19 vaccines, and check out support that was available.
Channel 2′s Justin Carter was live at the Georgia World Congress Center for all of the action.

The bash was held in person for the first time in years and about 10,000 families pre-registered for Saturday’s bash.
The big focus for the Back-to-School Bash was a new initiative called ASP5. This new initiative will implement new methods to close the achievement gap within the district.
