ATLANTA — Enjoy it while you can: Today could be the last time you see sunshine in 2018.
Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said Wednesday will be mild but clouds will thicken up with temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking when rain moves in, on Channel 2 Action News This Morning starting at 4:30 a.m.
Very wet weather will arrive in the days ahead.
A Flash Flood Watch goes into effect Thursday evening through Saturday morning for most of Georgia. A total of 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rainfall is expected. Nitz said the impacts could include flooding of rivers, streams and creeks.
Temperatures will be near 60 degrees most of Wednesday, Nitz said
On Wednesday night, a wedge will build in, bringing clouds and moisture to north Georgia. Thursday will start out cloudy with temperatures in the 40s. Rain will increase throughout the day Thursday into Friday.
Nitz said metro Atlanta needs 6 more inches of rain for 2018 to become the wettest year on record.

It could happen, since wet weather is on the way and could begin Thursday.
By New Year's Eve, there's a potential for 4 inches of rain across north Georgia, according to Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan.
