Toddler airlifted, 2 drivers hospitalized after crash on GA highway

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — Three people, including a 2-year-old, were injured in a crash Thursday morning in Habersham County.

The crash happened on Cannon Bridge Road at Smith Loop Road around 7:43 a.m.

Habersham County officials said two cars were involved and both drivers were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

A 2-year-old riding in one of the cars had to be airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Habersham County said Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.

GSP said a Chevrolet Sonic was stopped at a stop sign on Double Springs Road, and a Dodge Durango was traveling north on GA-105. 

The driver of the Sonic failed to yield to the Durango and was hit on the driver’s side by the front of the Durango. 

The driver of the Sonic and Durango were both taken to the hospital.
