“We are forever grateful to the team members who have put so much effort into making Torched Hop a special place. We are also thankful for the many regulars, friends and family members who have supported us on this journey,” owners Chris and Stephen Bivins wrote in a statement.
The Bivins brothers opened Torched Hop nearly nine years ago on Ponce de Leon Ave. The brothers graduated from Auburn University, but didn’t want a typical desk job, according to the brewery’s bio.
Torched Hop’s owners did not say why they are closing down shop. But they hope to say goodbye to as many customers as they can before they close in two weeks.
“It’s not the fairy tale ending we had hoped for. But we have created memories that will last a lifetime,” they said.
