ATLANTA — A tropical storm watch has been issued for parts of metro Atlanta ahead of Tropical Storm Zeta. The storm is heading for the Gulf Coast first and could strengthen back into a hurricane.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz says Wednesday night and Thursday will be the time to be weather aware with the risk of flooding, severe weather and possible weak tornadoes.

Here’s what you need to know Wednesday about the storm:
- A flash flood watch and tropical storm watch have been issued. They go into effect Wednesday.
- Wind gusts 30-45 mph are possible.
- Brief, weak tornadoes are also possible.
