COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — College Park police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a man is dead and four people are hospitalized after a crash on I-285.
Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields reports that all lanes of I-285 at Interstate 85 near the Atlanta airport were shut down just before 6 a.m.

According to the College Park Police Department, a tractor-trailer lost unsecured cargo, causing a three-car crash involving a Stockbrige police officer and two other vehicles.
One of the drivers, identified as 45-year-old Lenin Jose Canelones, got out of his car and was hit and killed by a fourth vehicle.

Four other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Stockbridge police said their officer was not injured. None of the injured victims have been identified.
Investigators with Georgia State Patrol assisted College Park police with clearing the crash.
The interstate was shut down for nearly three hours before it re-opened Friday.
