TALIAFERRO COUNTY, Ga. — A driver is hospitalized after crashing through a Georgia home Friday morning.

Just before 4 a.m. on Jan. 3, Taliaferro County deputies and firefighters were called to a vehicle accident on Sparta Road.
When first responders arrived, officials learned a 2004 GMC Silverado traveling along Highway 22 left the roadway and crashed into a home.
The home was unoccupied, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver, later identified as Joseph Tuten, 45, of Taylors, SC was injured and removed from the truck, due to the vehicle catching fire.
Tuten was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Taliaferro County and Greene County Fire Departments extinguished the fire.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
