PIKE COUNTY, Ga. — The Pike County Fire Department said two children are dead after an accidental fire early Sunday.
Around 3:25 a.m., fire officials responded to 347 Short Cut Road after reports of a fire. When they got to the scene, the fire was quickly extinguished.
Two children were found dead in the home as a result of the fire.

The names and ages of the victims were not officially released, but family members said the two kids killed were twins. The pair had recently turned one on Nov. 12.

According to the family, the twins’ parents were in the process of planning their first birthday party.
The state fire marshal determined the fire was accidental.
The family has set up a GoFundMe for anyone interested in donating to the funeral expenses for the twins.
