DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Police say a man pulled a gun on a group of people at a Douglas County dog park.

It happened on Memorial Day at Deer Lick dog park. Police told Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes it all started as an argument about an aggressive dog.

Fernandes obtained video of the incident as it happened and spoke with people who were there at the time.

According to witnesses, one dog owner, a 62-year-old woman, said Albert Partin’s dog bit her dog. Partin and the other dog owner then argued about it.

Chris Mungin was there with his dog. He said he heard the argument and tried to diffuse it.

"He started getting really vulgar. The racial slurs and the derogatory statements came out and ... he called her a b***h," Mungin said.

Mungin said he told Partin that he should leave the park. Moments later, video shows Partin pull out his gun and point it at Mungin and the woman.

"I froze because I knew I couldn't make any sudden moves," Mungin said.

Several witnesses called 911 and after deputies saw the video, they arrested Partin and charged him with two misdemeanors for pointing his gun at two people.

Victims said they want more serious charges to be filed, such as aggravated assault felonies.

"The fact that he has a license to carry, drew in an aggravated manner with aggression and they still feel that he felt threatened when I'm unarmed, everybody was unarmed, and he only got two misdemeanors -- it's just irate," Mungin said.

Fernandes spoke with Sheriff Tim Pounds about it.

"You have a right to protect yourself and property at any given moment. Now, he feared this guy. This guy is approaching him. He just wanted him to get off of him and that’s why they’re misdemeanors and not felonies. He had a right to protect himself," Pounds said.

Pounds also said that he doesn't understand why anyone would bring a gun to a dog park in the first place.
