DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Family and friends grieved for the couple abducted from a DeKalb County home who were then handcuffed and then shot.

During a candlelight vigil Thursday, they held each other, cried, laid down flowers and lit candles. Dozens of people came together to support the families of 23-year-old Jeronta Brown, and 21-year-old Briana Brooks, who was pregnant.

"Terrifying, horrifying," said Kawana Brown, Brown's mother.

Brown died after police said he along with his girlfriend were abducted from a home, handcuffed, stuffed in a van, shot and left on Ridge Avenue in Northwest Atlanta.

"Turn yourself in. That was my first grandson. I want you to turn yourself in. That was not fair," said Robin Bryant, the victim's grandmother.

The Fulton County Medical Examiners' office said they were able to remove the organs for donations from Briana Brooks before she died Thursday. Brooks was shot in the head.

The baby girl that she was carrying survived.

"It is a blessing she survived. I just hate that he is not going to be here," said Brown's stepfather, Calvin Reddick. He wonders if his stepson was targeted because his family just received a large settlement check.

"I drive a nice car. My wife drives a nice car. They must know we have money," Reddick said.

The family said they want the killers to turn themselves in.
