1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting in Walton County; GBI investigating

WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said one person is dead and another was arrested after a shooting in Walton County early Wednesday morning.

The incident shut down Highway 30 in Loganville while the Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded.

Deputies responded to a home at 4870 GA 20 after someone called and reported that a person had been shot.

Shane Stark was arrested at the scene. Stark has several charges pending against him. It’s unclear if he is being charged with murder.

The victim’s name has not been released.
