SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. — A local sheriff’s office is warning people about a woman posing as a worker with the Division of Child and Family Services.
Channel 2 Investigative Reporter Wendy Halloran talked with a Spalding County mother who said the woman knocked on her door and tried to grab her child.
“She said, ‘This is your 24-hour notice that we’re coming to get your kids tomorrow,’ so I was thinking, ‘Somebody called DFACS on me, but I don’t know why,'” the mother, Hannah Jackson, said.
Jackson said the woman was driving a white Chrysler minivan when she showed up at her house Tuesday.

“I said, ‘And who are you?’ and she said, ‘Christie,’ as she pointed to her name tag,” Jackson said.
Jackson said she was immediately confused.
“She bent over and tried to grab my son, so I swatted her hand away. I said, ‘No, ma’am, I don’t let strangers hold my kids,’ so she stood up and looked at me like I was crazy and left,” Jackson said.
Spalding County Sheriff’s Investigative Captain Mike Mason said there’s cause for concern.
“One of our investigators contacted our local DFACS and determined that there was no Christie employed with DFACS,” Mason said.
Jackson isn’t the only mother to report the possible imposter.
“It’s concerning to find out who the person is, maybe to get her identified to see what her motives are,” Mason said.
Anyone who sees the woman or if she comes to your house, call the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office or 911.
