PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Crews are working to repair a water main break that shut down a road.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington saw crews with construction equipment at the scene digging into the ground to repair the water main Wednesday.
The 10-inch PVC water main broke, sending water gushing along Dabbs Bridge Road, just south of Ponderosa Trail, forcing the complete shutdown of the area Wednesday morning.

As crews worked to make repairs, a number of nearby homes and three schools dealt with no water for the better part of the day. Those three schools include North Paulding High School, Burnt Hickory Elementary and McClure Middle School.
Washington spoke with a woman who decided to pick up her granddaughter before dismissal time while crews worked on the water line.
“Had gotten this robocall from the school that they had a waterline situation and that it was affecting all three schools,” said Evelyn Dunham. "She (Dunham's granddaughter) called me back and said they were going to use Porta Potties, and knowing my daughter, because grandma does not like to use them either, I told her I would and pick her up for the day."
Paulding County Water System is working to fix the issue.
“We’ve been working on a temporary fix where we are establishing service between two hydrants to keep water flowing,” said Laurie Ashmore with the Paulding County Water System.
Service at the schools was mostly restored by Wednesday afternoon, but the road remained closed as crews worked to replace the line.
