COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County firefighters battled a blaze at a funeral home on Tuesday afternoon, but luckily no remains were inside.
Fire crews say they were called to Norman Medford-Peden Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta around 2:30 p.m.

NewsChopper 2 flew over the funeral home and saw a portion of the building severely burned and with a large hole.
The fire marshal said the owner had already gone home for the day, but it’s unclear if cleaning crews were inside when the fire started.

Investigators did confirm that no clients, including remains, were inside the funeral home at the time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
