But at the top of the stairs, the six or seven-stacked high crates are wobbly and many people fall onto the ground from the top.

Videos posted on social media show people falling in awkward positions, including on their necks, backs and arms.

There are thousands of videos and photos posted under the hashtag on Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.

Channel 2′s Audrey Washington said metro Atlanta health worker reported seeing two cases Sunday of people breaking or fracturing bones when they fell while attempting the Milk Crate Challenge.

TRENDING STORIES:

In a video posted on Instagram, a crowd gathered in Gresham Park over the weekend and several people attempted the challenge. One of the contestants fell from the top and landed on the bottom crate.

Many people are comparing this new fad to the “Tide Pod Challenge” of 2018.

The challenge was for participants, primarily teens and young adults, to put the pods into their mouths, sometimes even chew them, and then post videos of what happens. Some of these individuals experienced foaming at the mouth and severe coughing spells after consuming a pod.

There were several reports of people being injured from poisoning in the acts.
