SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — An intruder at a Sandy springs home wasn’t looking for a Tootsie Pop and may not have been wise to enter. Thankfully he wisely “flew the coop” once he found the right way out.

Sandy Springs Police were called out to reports of an intruder this week when the homeowner discovered a surprise guest.
Yes, that’s right, a wise old owl found his way into the home and began taking up residence in the screened-in porch.
Police posted about the adventure on the Sandy Springs PD Facebook page.

It’s not every day an officer gets a call like this, but Sandy Springs PD handled it the best way they could. A little prompting, a bit of encouragement and a momentary distraction was all it took to send the owl on its way.
No harm, no fowl, the bird resumed its duty of watching over the neighborhood while the officers, the homeowner and the slightly misdirected bird were all a bit wiser for the experience.
