ROME, Ga. — Georgia U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says a woman has died after getting into a car wreck with a police officer who was responding to a reported bomb threat at her house in Rome.

The Rome Police Department said the wreck happened along Redmond Road near the Walmart in Rome.

Greene said the woman has been identified as Tammie Pickelsimer.

“My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the officer who was injured, and the entire Rome Police Department,” Greene said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Congresswoman said she got an email threat against her and that police determined that it came from a Russian IP address.

“Due to the international nature and severity of this threat, my office is collaborating closely with local and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice,” Greene said. “Since being elected to Congress, I have been swatted at least nine times—deliberate attempts to provoke a deadly police response through false and highly exaggerated threats.”

Greene went on to thank the officers with the Rome Police Department and called the threat a “despicable act.”

“The perpetrator of this crime has committed murder in our small community of Rome, Georgia,” Greene said. “I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m also angry. This should have never happened and I pray it never happens again.
