LAMAR COUNTY, Ga. — The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating a body found with a gunshot wound in a cemetery Sunday afternoon.
The victim was identified Monday as 17-year-old D’Shaunti Kyanni Hunter of Ellenwood.
Brad White told Channel 2 Action News that his office responded to the cemetery off Highfalls Park Road across from Unionville Church around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

A family who was there visiting their mother’s grave spotted the body toward the back of the cemetery.
Investigators don’t know at this time if Hunter was killed at the cemetery or somewhere else. She was found with at least one gunshot wound.
White said his office has reached out to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for assistance. An autopsy is pending at the GBI crime lab.
