CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a Woodstock woman Tuesday.
They say it happened just after 7 p.m. on Towne Lake Parkway near the intersection of Buckhead Crossing.
Firefighteres arrived to find a black Lexus SUV had crossed the median and struck a tree. They say a 43-year-old woman, of Woodstock, was dead at the scene.
According to police, witnesses say the car was being driven eradically on the highway before crossing the road into the median.
A portion of the westbound lane of Towne Lake Parkway was closed as they cleared the scene. Police say no other cars were involved and that investigators are still searching for the cause of the crash.
