ATLANTA — Mega Millions and Powerball are on a roll. Mega Millions dominates with a $221 million jackpot for Friday’s drawing. The Powerball jackpot has hit $162 million for Saturday’s drawing.

The Mega Millions jackpot has grown since Nov. 7 and has rolled 18 times.

Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $221 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $143 million.

It only takes $1 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.

The Powerball jackpot has grown since Dec. 3 and has rolled 11 times.

A winning ticket worth $10,000 was sold in Valdosta from Wednesday’s drawing.

Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $162 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $105 million. Powerball tickets are $2 per play.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions and Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
