MORRISVILLE, NC — An airplane passenger captured a heartbreaking return of a fallen soldier in North Carolina.
Lisa West Williams posted the emotional video on her Facebook page on Tuesday. In it, you can see the soldier’s widow approaching the flag-draped coffin and placing her hand on the American flag. She then bows her head and appears to cry and pray.
Other family members come to her side, and they embrace by the coffin.
The fallen soldier was identified by the Army Times as Green Beret Officer Shawn Thomas. He was stationed at Fort Bragg but died in a non-combat accident in Niger on Feb. 2.
