Police: Bank Robber Arrested In Atlanta Hotel

DULUTH, Ga.,None — A man wanted in connection with two bank robberies was arrested Friday night in a downtown Atlanta hotel, said a spokesman for the Duluth Police Department.

Matthew Gonzalez, of Lawrenceville, is accused in the Aug. 2 armed robbery of a Wachovia Bank in Duluth. Gonzalez was also charged in the July 16 robbery of a Chase Bank in Dunwoody.

Police in Gwinnett are investigating whether Gonzalez is connected with the armed robbery of a BB&T Bank on Sugarloaf Parkway in January.

The FBI arrested Gonzalez after Duluth police received a tip about his location.

Gonzalez is at the Gwinnett County Jail.
