Meet, Willa, APD’s new emotional support dog in training!

ATLANTA — Atlanta police have a new face on the force!

An adorable fluffball named Willa has joined the APD PAWS program in training to be an emotional support dog for officers and victims of crimes.

Willa joins the APD’s first emotional support dog, Scout, who joined the program in November of last year.

“Scout provides instant therapy by elevating moods, relieving stress and lessening anxiety,” the department said in a tweet last year.

APD says therapy dogs can reduce anxiety following a critical incident.
