Trump, Biden in neck-and-neck race in Georgia, new Channel 2 poll shows

ATLANTA — President Donald Trump and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, are neck and neck in the race for President.

The poll surveyed 500 likely voters over two days.

In the latest WSB-TV/Landmark Communications poll released Monday, Trump is leading in Georgia with a little more than 47%.

Biden currently is just under 45%, putting him within the poll’s margin of error of 4.4%.

Just under 4% of voters say they are undecided and just over 4% of voters say they will vote for Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen.

When you look at the breakdown of gender, 52% or men prefer Trump over Biden. For women, 51.3% prefer Biden over Trump.

The poll comes as the Democratic National Convention is about to get underway. The convention will consist of a four-day virtual party meeting that ends with Biden formally accepting his nomination as the party’s candidate for president.

Next week, Republicans will get their chance to show off their agenda and push Trump and his reelection campaign.
