ROSWELL, Ga. — Roswell Police are looking for two men they say held a family at gunpoint after breaking into their home.
Luis Rodriguez told Channel 2 Action News he heard a loud crash Aug. 25 and came downstairs to see what was going on inside his Timber Circle home.
“We came down here and saw two people trying to take the TV, and the other was in the kitchen,” he said. “They was looking for money, I guess.”
Rodriguez said one of the men had a gun and pointed it at him.
“He put (it) almost to my head,” he said. “My leg was shaking. Everything was shaking on my body.”
He said his wife came downstairs carrying their 9-month-old son and screamed so loudly, the men retreated into the early morning darkness.
“I was worried about my family,” Rodriguez said. “I was worried the guy would shoot me and shoot the baby. I was really, really worried.”
Roswell Police told Channel 2′s Mike Petchenik they believe the suspects had been casing the area looking for someone to target.
“There was a neighbor that saw a male matching that description in the area a couple of days prior,” Officer Sean Thompson said. “Somebody’s in the area looking for something.”
Rodriguez said someone burglarized his truck the day before and took cash. He wonders if the same people came back looking for more.
“I feel like they were like, ‘They’ve got $200 in the truck, probably they’ve got more inside the house,’” he said. “Hispanic people, we don’t save the money in the bank. We save the money in the house.”
