A group of motorcyclists descended upon an 8-year-old’s lemonade stand to show appreciation to the girl’s mother, a nurse who stopped on the side of the highway and helped some members who were involved in a crash.
Daryn Struch pulled to the side of the road when she came upon a wreck that injured five members of the Milwaukee Iron motorcycle group in September 2018, WRTV reported.
"When I pulled up, it looked like one of them had lost control and their bikes (were) tangled," Sturch told Good Morning America. "I parked a ways away so my daughter wouldn't see and I ran up. They had some severe injuries."
She comforted the victims, three men and two women, until emergency responders arrived, the Jackson Progress-Argus reported.
The bikers later connected with Struch through social media. She shared an image of her daughter, Bryanne, selling lemonade outside their home Sept. 7, but it was rained out.
One of the bikers saw the post, mentioned that they would be in the area the following week and suggested Struch’s daughter reopen the stand. Sturch was shocked Sept. 15 when a group of about 30 bikers showed up.
"I had no idea how many there would be and they were so generous," Sturch told ABC News. "She was charging $1, and I bet every one of them gave a $5 or $10 or $20. (Bryanne) was as happy as she could be."
Some of the bikers were the same victims from the accident.
"I feared for his life. This was the first time I've seen him since that day," Sturch told WRTV. "Not only did they make my daughter's lemonade stand unforgettable, but reuniting with these people and seeing how well they are doing was such a fantastic surprise."
