PALMER, Mass. — A Monson, Massachusetts woman has taken to Facebook in hopes of find her birth mother.
Tuesday night, Kathleen O'Shea posted an extended Facebook post explaining her situation and asking for help finding her mother.
"I was literally shaking when I typed the post last night," she said.
The post has been shared nearly 4,000 times.
O'Shea said she believes her birthday was June 18, 1991. A few days later, her mother left her in a bathroom at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
""I know nothing. I don't know a name. I don't know anything about my father," she said.
O'Shea, now 25, said she was adopted with she was 3 months old and has loved her adoptive mother and siblings for her whole life.
But the longing for to know her birth mother continues, even though many people say her mother abandoned her.
"I personally don't think she did anything wrong. Back in 1991 there was no safe haven laws. So it was actually against the law for her to leave me which I think took even more courage," she said.
With a 3-year-old son and a 5-month-old daughter, O'Shea wants her birth mother to know that she's now a grandmother.
"The unconditional love and everything. I don't go a day without thinking about my kids so I would hope that she doesn't go a day without thinking about the baby she never got to fully meet in a way," O'Shea told FOX25.
After exhausting many options, including reaching out to the sergeant who handled her case when she was just an infant, O'Shea is hoping her message on Facebook will help the search.
"It's just hard. It would tie a lot of things together in my life, not just a piece of mind," she said.
okay, so I'm literally shaking writing this post. It's taken me a good 25 years to do this. I looked up a couple...
