TOLEDO, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot on Monday in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Toledo, Ohio, authorities said.
Jaden Skaggs, of Toledo, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at an area hospital, Lucas County coroner Diane Scala-Barnett, told The Toledo Blade.
According to police, the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Ravine Park Village Apartment complex in East Toledo, the newspaper reported.

The victim, described by Toledo police as a juvenile male, died from his injuries.

The shooting occurred at about 5:15 p.m. EDT, according to WTVG. The incident occurred near the Ravine Park Village Community Center, WTOL-TV reported.
“About 20 kids were running in each direction,” neighborhood resident Jacob Juhasz told the Blade.
Skaggs is the fourth juvenile homicide victim this year, according to WTOL. It was the seventh overall homicide in the city in 2023, the Blade reported.
Toledo Police Department Sgt. Pat Myslinski said it was unclear what led to the shooting, according to the newspaper.
“We’re still in the beginning stages, preliminary things here, trying to figure it out,” Mylinski told reporters.
An autopsy was planned for Tuesday, according to the Blade.
