9 shot at S.C. club just north of Savannah early Easter Sunday, sheriff says

HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities in South Carolina say they are investigating shooting at a club in Hampton County early Easter Sunday that left at least nine people injured.

Hampton County is on the Georgia border about one hour north of Savannah.

Officials with the State Law Enforcement Division said the shooting happened at a club on Ashley Circle Road in Furman, South Carolna, according to WTOC.

A bar on Ashley Circle Road was advertising an Easter party Saturday night.

The sheriff’s office said in an email there were no reported fatalities. No information was available on the severity of the injuries.

The victims have not been identified.

The SLED says it was asked to investigate by the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting comes a day after gunfire at a mall in Columbia, South Carolina, led to 14 people being hurt. One arrest has been made in the mall shooting.
