The driver, who was not identified, stopped his truck and was able to get the black kitten to run into his arms, KCCI-TV reported.

The driver took the feline to Iowa Pet Foods & Seascapes in West Des Moines, according to the television station.

“She’s healthy, she ate, she’s purring and she’s in good shape,” Lori Sandahl, the store’s owner, told KCCI.

Sandahl said the kitten appeared to be house-trained and is affectionate.

“She’s just full of life, purring from the moment she came in the front door,” Sandahl told the television station. “So, she knows she’s in a safe place.”

The cat was checked by a veterinarian, and following a quarantine will be put up for adoption.

“She’s ready for lap time and cuddle time,” Sandahl told KCCI. “You’ll find your forever home fast.”

It is not the first time an Amazon delivery driver has saved an animal.

In 2020, a driver saved a 14-year-old dog from drowning in a backyard pool in Woburn, Massachusetts, according to People.
