Colin Kaepernick and Nessa Diab announce new baby’s arrival

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his longtime girlfriend, television and radio host Nessa Diab, announced a new addition to their family on social media.

Diab posted a photo of the new parents with their baby on her Instagram page, saying, “I thought long and hard about sharing our life changing news today. I decided to do so because today is the first day in a few weeks where I stepped out for work with a new life title — MOM!”

Diab appeared at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards just moments after sharing the big announcement, E! Online reported.

In the post, Diab said the baby was born a few weeks ago, and described her recovery from delivery as “a journey.” Describing Kaepernick, Diab said: “Colin is the most amazing dad and I’m soooo grateful that he is by our side for every moment of this journey.”

Kaepernick last played in the NFL in 2016 for the San Francisco 49ers, the same year he began to kneel during the playing of the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice, Sports Illustrated reported.

Kaepernick and Diab reportedly began dating in 2015, according to Sports Illustrated.

Neither the baby’s gender nor name were revealed in the post.
