Conan O’Brien is leaving the daily late-night talk show circuit behind.
WarnerMedia announced O’Brien will be ending his TBS show in June and will be jumping to HBO Max for a weekly variety show, USA Today reported.
“Conan” executive producer Jeff Ross recently called late-night shows “kind of dinosaurs in the business” and were looking for new avenues, Deadline reported.
Team Coco will produce the new show.
O’Brien went to Harvard and was a writer for “The Simpsons,” but for 28 years, O’Brien has been a fixture on late-night television, first on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and then “The Tonight Show” before landing on TBS with “Conan,” USA Today reported.
